Callum Bulmer

I have been a professional sound recordist since 1993 and in that time I have covered all disciplines of production sound for film and television. A strong background in Documentary film making has seen me cross the globe many times, indeed to 50 countries across all 7 continents. I’m equally at home recording sound for HD or 35mm and I am proficient in stereo and surround sound techniques and file based workflow. Mountains, deserts or studios, at home or abroad I have the equipment, the experience and the expertise. I have completed Arctic and Sea survival courses, all my vaccinations are up to date, I am proficient in winter sports, diving, sailing, motorbikes and firearms. I hold dual UK/NZ nationality and a current US iVisa. I also shoot location stills, many of my photographs have been used by the BBC publicity dept and I provided the majority of the stills for the book of the acclaimed Michael Wood series Story of India. I'm pleased to say I was part of the team that won a BAFTA for best factual sound 2010 for Trawlermen, although it was probably just for daring to be there as much as for the sound.
