Back focus adjustment on Sony digital video camera
This ensures that the rear element of a lens is correctly focussed on the camera's image sensor
Most zoom lenses have a back focus adjustment ring which adjusts the distance between the rear element of the lens and the focal plane of the camera. This is a fine tolerance adjustment and it is essential that it is correct or your image will go out of focus as you zoom out.
