Camera Assistant

Part of the Camera Crew. Assistant to the DOP, Lighting Cameraman or Camera Operator.

The Camera Assistant is responsible for assembling camera equipment, changing lenses and batteries and generally looking after the camera kit (and the cameraman)!

The position of camera assistant is a skilled and fulfilling role in itself but it's also a great opportunity to gain experience from a number of different lighting camermen and DOPs and often camera assistants are ideally placed to move up into these roles themselves.
