It tells you from day one what you intend to spend in what months on what budget line and is the essential tool for making sure that you have enough money every month to fund your production in conjunction with the broadcaster making milestone payments to you. If your cashflow and the payments coming from your broadcaster are wildly different, you have a problem. A properly run cashflow is updated monthly to take into consideration variations and changes in the production that month; once updated it will continue to reflect the stage payments coming from the broadcaster and identify where there is a hole in funding.
