Clapper Board

Picture of Clapper Board Slate Board
Used to mark the scene number & take number when filming. It is held in front of the camera before the action commences and the clapper is snapped shut to give an audible sync point for sound as well as a visual sync point for camera. This allows the separate sound tape to be married up to the picture in post production so that the picure and sound can be played together in sync.
