Colour Correction
The on line editor, sometimes known as the colourist will use a colour control tool such as the Nucoda Film Master to make adjustments to the colour of the video picture and correct any overall colour cast in the original image. For example, a scene may have been shot in mixed lighting conditions and have turned out to be too blue. The colourist will make adjustments to correct the blue colour cast and make the picture warmer with more accurate flesh tones. This is just one aspect of the overall grading process which generally involves much finer manipulation of the image.
