A type of pan & tilt head for controlling the movement of a film or video camera. Unlike a
fluid head, the geared head is moved by turning wheels which produced very precise movement of the pan & tilt action via gears. The gears can be selected from very fine to coarse so that one complete turn of the wheel will cause either a small or relatively large movement of the camera respectively. Geared heads require a highly skilled operator and are generally used with larger cameras and on commercials, higher budget dramas and feature films.
