HDCAM

Sony introduced HDCAM in 1997 as a high definition version of digital betacam. HDCAM is used for filming high def productions and is the recording format found in cameras such as the HDW750 and the HDW900. HDCAM decks are also found in post production facilities for digitising rushes, recording master tapes and producing clones.
