Hyperfocal Distance

This is the focus point at which the lens should be set to give maximum depth of field. It is a calculated figure which depends on the lens focal length and f stop and can be found in lens tables or by using a Kelly Calculator. When a lens is focussed at the hyperfocal distance, everything from half this distance to infinity will be in acceptable focus. For example if the hyperfocal distance for a given lens and f stop is 30ft, then setting the lens focus to 30ft would give acceptable focus from 15ft to infinity
