Insurance Bond
Travelling abroad to some countries with professional production equipment requires a Carnet. This basically proves that you have not left or sold the equipment in the foreign country. If for some reason such as loss or theft, some or all of your kit is not re-exported, or if the Carnet is returned incomplete, it will be subject to import duty and the tax will have to be paid. An insurance bond accompanies a Carnet to guarantee that the import duty will be paid in the event of a claim.
