Matte Box

Matte box and filter holders
An accessory that fits to the front of a camera's lens to hold filters and act as a lens shade to control flare.

A matte box is used as a lens shade and to hold filters in front of a camera's lens. It can also support a french flag to control light hitting the lens and causing flare. It is a very useful standard piece of kit and is used on most cameras in almost all situations. It's important to know that your matte box will accept the size of filters you are using and will fit the lens or lenses in your camera package.
