Pack Shot

This is the shot of the "product", usually the subject of a commercial.

The term pack shot is used mainly in commercials and will tend to be the glossy shot of the product being advertised, whether it's a item of jewellery, a cleaning product or something as large as a car. It's also a generic term used in documentary to identify a stand alone shot of an object which features in the narrative.
