Production Manager
This is the person in charge of the budget, schedule and delivery of a programme or series.
A PM budgets the series before commission, adjusts the budget throughout the commissioning process and then runs it once in production, reporting costs to the broadcaster as the series unfolds. The PM organises and schedules the shoots and the post production, ensures that everything runs to plan, and fixes it when it doesn't, so that the series delivers on time, to budget and with all the necessary compliance with the production agreement and the broadcaster. This includes all copyright clearances, staff contracts and talent contracts. The PM is the lynch pin and offers advice on anything and everything to do with the production.
