Resolution
A measure of the quality of an image in terms of the number of individual elements which make up the overall picture. In film terms, this would be the number of film grains per frame. In video terms it is the number of pixels per chip and for a printed image, the number of dots per inch (dpi). The greater the number of grains, pixels or dots, the higher resolution and quality of the image.
