Rushes
These are the images you bring back from the filming location either on film, tape or disc. The uncut footage that will later be edited into the final programme.
The term "rushes" originally comes from "rush print". Exposed film negative would be sent at the end of the shooting day to the laboratory for processing overnight. A "rush print" was then made from the negative and sent back to the filming location for viewing on a projector. Also known as "dailies"
