Soft Light
A soflight effect can be achieved in a number of ways:
By reflecting a hard light source off a reflector board such as white polystyrene sheet. Known as a bounce light.
By adding a soft box such as a Chimera to the front of the light source.
By adding diffusion material such as Lee Frost to the front of the light source.
By using a lighting unit which is designed specifically to produce soft light such as a Rifa Light , Space Light or Kino Flo
Soft lighting is more flattering for portraiture and gives a more natural look than a direct hard light
