James Ewen
I am wildlife and documentary cameraman currently based in Norway, with experience and credits in variety of genres. I have worked in coastal, mountain, rainforest and savannah environments.
Currently I’m focussed on the higher primates including mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and human beings.
I have 40+ hours shooting aerials on the Tyler Middle Mt and many more on Cine Kinetic Mts. I am a competent underwater cameraman. I am experienced with most HD and film formats and I’m an owner/operator of a HPX2700 P2 Varicam, HD lenses and all the bits. I operate cranes, dollies and cable rigs as well as being well versed in film and video lighting.
As a cameraman I have shot or directed for:
National Geographic, NRK, BBC NHU, Discovery, TVM, STV, RTE, MTV, Arte/ARD and SABC.
My non-broadcast work includes:
Media production for international development, wildlife conservation and non-profit organisations. These clients include the governments of Mozambique, Ireland, United Kingdom and Uganda, as well as many major conservation organisations including WWF, IUCN, Jane Goodall Institute, IGCP and the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Geographical experience;
Alaska, Botswana, Senegal, Moçambique, South Africa, Nicaragua, Mali, Patagonia (Chile), India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Hawaii and Guatemala, Zambia, Uganda and Norway. I have worked in at 5000m+ and 40 metres below sea level. I have kit and clothing to suit all these places.
