Mark Whatmore
I am an experienced and adaptable cameraman and film-maker working on documentaries, dramas, media installations and corporate films for clients around the world.
With a background in Travel Writing and Televison News I have been making film for more than 20 years. My work includes films for Al Jazeera, the BBC, Sky, Channel 4 and National Geographic, and institutions such as UNESCO, Cambridge University and English Heritage. I have also produced large scale, immersive video experiences, both single and multi-screen, for museums and cultural institutions including the V&A in London and museums in Africa, the Middle East and the USA.
Specialties
I like working on strong stories about people and culture. I enjoy exploring the values, passions, ideas and emotions that drive people.
I also enjoy working in challenging environments (both culturally and physically), with small, low-impact teams. Recent filming projects have taken me to Sudan, Egypt, USA, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ethiopia, France, Turkey, Bolivia, Spain, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
I have a complete Red Epic kit, available as either light-weight documentary package or as a fully-fitted drama set up.
