Michael is a versatile documentary and wildlife cameraman with more than 14 years experience in filmmaking. He frequently works as a director-cameraman and has some producing credits too.
Wildlife and adventure are Michael’s favourite genres. He’s as comfortable filming handheld as he is with a long lens, doing patient hide work or macro filming. As well as pure natural history sequences, he has filmed many observational documentaries and some presenter-led shows.
Michael has filmed from a variety of helicopters, planes and boats and enjoys the challenge of difficult environments. He’s worked in several sensitive situations in developing countries, with hospital patients and the emergency services.
Michael is a keen rock climber and successfully completed the BBC-recognised BCAP tree canopy rope access course. He has a current USA i-visa and speaks basic Spanish.
