I first worked with Michael Drury on the film 'Storm,' which was nominated for best short film by BAFTA Wales. Whenever I showed the film at festivals or special screenings, I was constantly asked how we achieved the opening shot - a huge, swooping camera movement that weaves around people, cars (and even a tank at one point) across a cold and windswept landscape, before finally coming to rest on an army officer, alone, swigging from a hip flask behind an army truck. It was an incredible opening, and I'm convinced that Storm wouldn't have achieved half the success and attention it did were it not for Mike's work. We've just worked together again on a film called 'Shalom Kabul' and his work was every bit as brilliant. The best I've seen, no question
