Night, Dusk & Dawn Flying

Whilst night flying is possible, it is subject to more restrictions than daylight flying and it's a good idea to discuss your ideas with the aerial filming company well in advance of your shoot date. The pilot will need an up to date night rating in a twin engined helicopter and you will be subject to cloud base and visibility restrictions.

If you are planning to film or fly during golden hour within 30 minutes of sunset, this counts as daylight flying. If you are flying more than 30 minutes before sunrise, or more than 30 minutes after sunset then this is night flying and restrictions apply.
