Warning - a word of caution
Whilst it is always good to know that you are using a reputable supplier, covered by adequate insurance and an AOC, there will be times when you simply can't thoroughly check a company's or individual's credentials. This is especially true when working abroad in second and third world countries. If this is the case, do all you can to check the pilot and the aircraft's track record by asking for recommendations from colleagues or other producers who have used this service. There are many bush pilots who fly regularly and will know the local conditions and terrain very well which is a definite advantage. Rules and limitations are often more relaxed in these countries but beware of pushing safety limits by flying lower or closer simply because you can. Think hard about what you really need and the safest way to achieve it. Bear in mind that the aircraft may not be subject to a rigorous maintenance programme as in the UK, USA or EU and that if things do go wrong you may well be out of the range of any emergency help.
