High Definition Production
Almost all broadcast programme material is now filmed in high definition.
Technological advances in cameras, recording formats and digital transmission are enabling more and more programmes to be produced and received in high definition. As demand for this service increases, Broadcasters too are increasing their output of high definition material.
High Definition production is technically more complicated than Standard Definition. There are a number of choices to make about frame rates for both aquisition and delivery and not all of these frame rates are compatible with each other. Close attention to post production planning is vital at the pre production stage to avoid mistakes which will be costly to repair and can also affect your picture quality.
This guide explains the processes of High Definition Production.
