Speeding up the process

Here are some ways of speeding up your transcription process

• Use a specialist transcription service. Transcripts are very time consuming, so outsourcing them means your staff time can be utilised elsewhere on the production.

• Email the sound files. If your sound recordist has a back up file of location sound for your  interviews - email this to the transcriber as soon as possible so the transcript is ready for the first morning of the edit. This is especially important on fast turnaround schedules and can be just as important as having the rushes digitised.
