I worked with Simon for the first time in October 09 when we filmed inserts for a Sky1 production on the Isle of Mull & the Solway Firth. Simon never missed a beat in spite of the sometimes hectic nature of the 'observational' style filming. Technically brilliant. Like all good sound recordists, the sound just 'happened' without any fuss or downtime. A great team player, attentive, calm and jolly fine company on some of the long car journeys.
Simon spent 13 years workingfor the BBC before going freelance in 2000. He specialises in factual, documentary and wildlife filming. Widely travelled on expeditions, Simon is an expert in Arctic filming with extensive experience of working on sea ice, tundra and with sled dog teams in very inhospitable environments. He has also worked widely in mountain terrain including the Himalayas, Alps and Andes as well as the African savannah and rain forest. He holds a US I Visa valid until 2015.
The lowest point of his professional career was throwing up over the celebrity chef Rick Stein but high points have included working on the Oscar short-listed documentary Blindsight and being told to f*** off by John Prescott.
