I have recently completed a BBC Factual work placement, in which I worked within an Educational math/sports programme called 3-2-1 Go! I assisted within achieve research, fact chasing, design work, organising and pulling together call sheets, booking transport, being the first point of contact for filtering/interviewing potential castings, arranging and also assisting on recces and castings (I usually filmed on the 5D), as well as being the call to person whilst the majority of members within the team were on a shoot.
I have also acted as a transcriber for Raw TV’s Deadliest Seas (Discovery) and worked as a dailies runner for companies including Talkback Thames (Britain's Got Talent) and Studio Lambert,(reality series called The Village) and completed a short wildlife documentary production and research course, organised through Wild Eye, which ranged from how to develop and pitch ideas to the editing and processing stages.
I have been lucky enough to gain hands on experience within different areas of field research around the world. I lived and worked throughout the South Pacific on an environmental expedition for 7 months onboard a 120ft Sailboat called Infinity Expeditions. Part of the projects aim was a documentary project to highlight how Pacific Islanders are effected first and foremost from the decisions and actions of large western countries. The documentary is based on a number of interviewees answering the questions 'where will your home be in 50 years?''(Still in development). My main role within the Infinity documentary production was within research, from researching scientific issues in relation to global warming and the pacific, location research and as well as assisting within the shoots and general running.
